Black Fire Hydrants
You might have noticed the black fire hydrants in or around your area of Smith County. The reason for this change came in legislation in Austin, Texas on September 18th, 2007 during the 80th Legislature. The House and Senate passed H.B. 1717 to aid in the identification of non-functioning fire hydrants and assist fire fighters in responding to fires in a timely manner.

We have placed an application for membership on our website for anyone who might be interested in joining our team. Welcome to the Bullard Fire Department website. This is our newest version, updated to be more user-friendly to all our visitors and members. We have added several information elements, such as weather and advisories, so that everyone can be informed of up to date issues.

Bullard Fire Department has purchased a new truck for fighting grass & woodland fires in our area. We purchased the new truck in mid-December, and the fire fighting apparatus is now being built to our specifications at a manufacturer in Lindale. We should receive the completed truck by mid-January, ready for the upcoming spring fire season.

The new truck is a 2007 model Chevrolet 3500HD, with a Duramax Diesel and Allison transmission, and will be a welcome addition to our grass/woodland fighting apparatus, giving us a total of 3 brush units and a plow, which is used for deep woodland fireline cutting.
